Who am I?

avatar QJBefore we go any further, I need to make it clear that I am not a professional speaker and never have been.

And whilst I’ve done a lot of speaking over the years, that’s not where my talent lies.

I should perhaps introduce myself first, so … “Hi, I’m QJ, and yes, that IS my real name and it doesn’t stand for anything – I just disliked the name my parents gave me, I was always called QJ (as a nickname), which suits me much better, so in 2004 I changed my name officially, and today, everyone just calls me QJ!”

So … back to where my talent lies.

Initially, I WAS a performer. I left school and got into the music business as the guitarist in a rock band, complete with manager and record deal.

We had a great time in the studio and out on the road. But soon I realised that the thing I was really interested in was Production. So, within a couple of years, I was producing other artists and not playing or performing on the records myself.

You see, what I always had a talent for, working with an artist, getting the very best out of them and then marketing them to their audience. I call it ‘taking what you do, and putting it in a beautiful picture frame’ so that it looks as good as it possibly can.

, not playing on, records.

Now, just in case you don’t know what production is all about, let me tell you: it’s taking an artist – maybe a solo singer, maybe a band – routining their material for the studio and then getting the very best performances out of them so that the record captures a moment in time, which you then work on further to turn it into a finished ‘product’.

Some of this work was for major labels, and some for my own label.

So, I spent many years in the music business producing and promoting artists who I signed to our label and who I really believed in.

After that, I spent nearly twenty years as a professional speaker sharing my story and talking about the things that – to this day – I really believe in.

Today, I support and promote some amazing speakers (more people I really believe in), all of whom really want to get out there and perform in a way that delivers great value.

Some are entertaining, some are educational, some are just plain fascinating, but all are passionate and want to share their expertise, their insights, and their wisdom.

Does that sound like you?

Are you at the peak of your powers as a communicator and ambassador for change?

I’ve been in the speaking game for a long time and have a singular mission: to help other speakers do what they do best, by offering a support service that leaves you – the speaker – FREE to do what you do best while we get on with all that thankless but important stuff that you don’t have the time for or don’t want to do.

Your Personal Brand is probably the start point for stepping up to the next level of your career. If it is, I look forward to hearing from you very soon.

Best Wishes
